Hey guys sorry I haven't been around that much but I've had a very full plate as of late.

First of all I lost my main hard disk which of course took some of my games with it (including IL2) because I was stupid enough to actually install games on a system drive. I don't care what anyone says about Seagate I'll likely never pick one up again because of all the grief it's caused me the past few months such as dropped/corrupted registry values, driver issues, performance issues, startup issues, and a host of other problems.

I've finally managed to get a replacement (Western Digital Caviar Black) and I'm currently re-building much of what I lost. It's quite likely I won't even bother re-installing ArmA given ArmAII is now out so I'll only be doing stuff for ArmAII once I get back up to speed including flying with you fine folks.

Also, Lifesupporters.com has fallen victim to slowly degrading usability on the main site (joomla) so I've been slowly working toward a completely new version of the site. The problem here is two fold:
  • the current look is not easy to duplicate without a tremendous amount of effort
  • the database has "issues" so I've been manually re-populating on the new version of joomla which takes literally forever

Since I'm not particularily enamored with the current look of Lifesupporters.com anymore I've decided to take the look/feel/aesthetic in a whole new direction.

For an idea of what I mean:

I figure it's going to take me a month or so to get Lifesupporters.com live on the new CMS however that isn't the end of the workload because the forums will need to be adjusted to fit the new look. I'm quite sure it will be mid to late fall before this project is done so my presence will be spotty at best during this time (sorry guys).

Ad to this the fact I'm also looking for work in a different city (about 50 km away) because if I can secure a decent paying job there my daughter will be moving in with me. This is top priority over everything but with our current job situation not being that strong even this is a huge uphill battle.

Anyway, I thought an update was necessary here guys because I'll still be a bit of a ghost until around fall sometime. I'm hoping by then I'll be in a position to move forward with this site and perhaps come back and fly because I'm really missing the squad nights as well.

If any of you ever need to get in touch with me I can always be found at Lifesupporters.com and check in briefly several times/day.

Ken

Wel, this site is securely parked here, so do what you have to do, and we'll be seeing you reappear :)
I've been busy myself too, and my wife's holliday is coming up, so it looks like I won't have much sparetime untill fall either.
And good luck with finding a new job! :!:

Really good to hear from you again Duke!

Sorry to hear about your disk crash but these things happens. Gives guys like me the chance to get back to a "clean" windows installation with only the stuff that you need and want

You're welcome back to our squadnights whenever you have the time again and you may also have noticed that we're beginning to establish some sort of ARMA2 sqaudnight as well.
Many squadmates have the full version now, like Rolfy, Wappy, Wotan, Bracer and me :)

Good luck with your new disks and I hope you'll have luck finding a new job as well!
